Art born from the soul

For me, art did not begin from a desire to paint something beautiful. It began from the need to give form to things that cannot always be spoken in words.

C. del Alma means, above all, a part of me put on canvas.

I create intuitively, starting from emotion, mood, and that inner space where feeling becomes stronger than thought. I do not seek perfection nor do I want my works to be merely decorative objects. I am drawn to the beauty that arises from imperfection, from contrast, from fragility and strength, from light and shadow.

Each painting is an encounter between what I live and what I allow to be born.

Flowers, textures, volumes, details, highlights of light, and the materials I choose become a language through which I express femininity, love, rebirth, vulnerability, abundance, loss, hope, and transformation. Sometimes a work begins in joy, other times from a deep emotion or from a moment that changed me. But it always begins from something true.

My vision

I believe art can change the energy of a space, but above all it can change, for a few moments, the state of the person who looks at it.

I do not want people to look at a C. del Alma painting and only ask whether it fits in a room. I want them to feel something.

Maybe calm. Maybe love. Maybe longing. Maybe strength. Maybe a memory. Or maybe an emotion they cannot even name.

For me, the true encounter with art begins when the work no longer belongs solely to the artist, but becomes part of the story of the viewer.

The intention behind my works

Each work is created as a unique piece. Even if certain elements, forms, or symbols appear in my artistic universe, I do not want to mechanically reproduce what I have already created.

Because emotions do not repeat themselves identically.

I like the idea that a painting reaches the right person and that, from that moment, another story begins. It is no longer just something created by me. It becomes part of a home, part of a life stage, part of a memory, part of a place where someone loves, dreams, loses, is reborn, and lives.

This is my intention: to create works that not only occupy a space, but make it feel.

About the freedom to create

I have no formal art education and I do not wish to follow an academic path in this direction.

I do not say this to diminish the importance of study, technique, or the artists who have dedicated years to their training. I deeply respect them. It is simply my choice to remain in relationship with art in a free, intuitive, and personal way.

I did not begin to paint because I learned how to. I began because I felt I had something to express.

I do not know all the rules of art and perhaps precisely for that reason, when I create I do not ask whether what I do is “correct.” I ask whether it is true for me.

I do not want my creative process to start from what I should do, but from what I feel. I choose the colors, shapes, textures…

About me, beyond the artist

I did not choose to create to prove something.

I create because there are things my soul knows how to say better through color, texture, and form than through words.

In my works there are fragments of who I was, who I am, and the woman I am becoming. There are my loves, my transformations, moments of light, but also those passages through life that change us forever.

Perhaps that is why I do not believe art must be fully explained.

Some things simply must be felt.

And if one of my works makes a person stop for a few seconds, feel something, and perhaps meet a part of their own soul, then the painting has found its meaning.

C. del Alma is not just the signature on my works.

It is the place from which they are born.

Del Alma — from the soul.
